Everyone Love Chocolate, Especially The Flight Crew!

Relationships, Service Add comments

Every day there are countless opportunities to reach out to people in a way that will brighten their day and open the door for genuine relationships to form and grow.

Here is one of my favorites. :)

Bringing chocolates for the flight crew has been one of the greatest joys of my life! To hand them a gift of appreciation and to verbalize a genuine ‘thank you’ has returned so many smiles, tears and hugs into my life.  It almost always ends up in a reciprocated service as well. (yes, it is nice to be upgraded to 1st Class for free, but more gratifying is to see someone light up with joy)

There are so many people who are working hard but not getting the appreciation and recognition that they deserve.  What can you do, today, to:

  • Say ‘Thank You’
  • Offer an encouraging word to someone
  • Provide an opportunity for someone else to rise to their potential

There are plenty of ways to do this, both online and offline.  What are some ways that you think are great to brighten someone’s day?

Add Your Suggestion to The Top 10 Ways to Brighten Someone’s Day

First, I challenge you to go out and brighten someone’s day!

Second, we’re going to compile a list of the top 10 ways to perform random acts of kindness…this can be how you responded to the challenge, or any other way you like to brighten someone’s day!

Leave a comment and share your suggestion with all of us! We’ll compile it in a list and publish it for everyone to see. :)

hey joseph, i'm on blip.fm (bunkmate) i am a drug and alcohol counselor. i love random acts of love and kindness 4 those who least expect it,just a smile or better yet a handshake or friendly touch can change someones life even if only 4 that day.cheri najor clinched it when she mentioned gratitude. what a beautiful concept.. what are you grateful for. tell someone how you have effected their lives 4 the better, no matter how big or small.appreciation is a kind of love that perpetuates and moves the heart to be more compassionate towards others. i believe if the world is to really change, it will come about from the selfless acts of people we might least expect to care. and a willingness in our own hearts to do what is right instead of just reacting to the negative views and fear we are so used to seeing. there is a great power in hope and love.. it dwells within my friends ! so keep a good heart, and most importantly SHARE IT !
  • Bon tardi! I truly enjoyed listening & reading to this blog post. True inspiration. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to more of you!

  • I love your chocolate idea Joseph - fabulous! Sometimes parents will put candy in their child's lunch box as a gesture of love. Since I'm all about finding healthier opportunities, I suggest putting a loving note in their lunch instead, letting them know you are thinking about them and love them so much. The other day I put a note in Max's lunch that had a picture of me and him laughing - he loved it and it gave the teachers a kick too! Sometimes I'll include a joke that he can share with the class, or maybe a page full of stickers that he can share with his classmates. Just the little things that brighten up the day of a 6-year-old.
  • When you're stuck in traffic, use it as an opportunity to extend gratitude. Pick up your cell phone and call someone -- anyone -- and tell them in great detail what you appreciate about them. I do this quite frequently with my Dad, and it always (and I mean always) elicits tears of joy. Example: I so appreciate how Joesph continues to shine light into the world by asking us how we can shine our light into the world!!
  • Smile to strangers for no specific reason =)
  • Everyday things - letting someone with a few items in line at the grocery store go before you, commiserating with a parent with a toddler who is melting down instead of shooting them dirty looks, and my favorite smiling. It's free and it makes everyone happy.
